Attended UCSB when it was an inexpensive good school, now it’s a relatively expensive great school but nothing has changed, except society. Moved to Hawaii to live my dream as a golf teacher/background to Magnum PI. That infuriated my well-meaning parents. After three years on the frozen corn-tundra of Iowa and a law degree it took me almost one year to lose the 48 pounds I’d gained. Then training at an agency, development at assorted production companies, (one was a powerful Japanese publisher seeking to develop entertainment properties in Tokyo. However, after the Japanese owner was arrested for smuggling cocaine, I had to sell my Japanese-to-English dictionary), litigation, story consultant, and eventually, the least respected pursuit of all, writing. All in all, it’s an old story – an L.A. cliché that’s been retold more times than a Nicki Minaj meme.
